Hair-End Sleeve

套在髮尾的金屬針織套筒，以細金屬絲編織而成，柔軟可隨頭髮彎曲，上端以金屬環束緊，下端敞開垂落。編織密度讓一般剪刀難以剪斷，多在通勤、排隊等人多的場合配戴，防止頭髮被陌生人剪走。 藥妝店與生活百貨的髮飾架上都買得到，和髮圈、髮夾掛在同一排，留長髮的人多半備有一條。也有人自行改造，加上珠子、花邊，或換成不同的金屬色；手工編織的款式價格差距很大，被一些人視為財力與品味的展現。戴假髮的人同樣會配戴，單純當作髮飾。同一條街上，有人戴它是為了保護，有人是為了好看。

A knitted metal sleeve worn over the ends of the hair. Woven from fine metal wire, it is soft enough to bend with the hair, gathered at the top by a metal ring, its open end hanging loose. The knit is dense enough that ordinary scissors struggle to cut through it. It is usually worn in crowded places, on the commute or in a queue, to keep strangers from cutting off one's hair. It hangs on the hair-accessory racks of drugstores and variety stores, in the same row as hair ties and clips, and most people with long hair own one. Some customize theirs with beads, lace trims or a different metal finish; handmade versions vary widely in price, and some see them as a display of wealth and taste. People who wear wigs wear them too, simply as a hair accessory. On the same street, some wear one for protection, others because it looks nice.
